About Us

For anyone interested in photography, we aim to promote and enjoy photography in all its forms. We will encourage and support individuals to learn (and to improve) the gamut of photographic techniques in a fun and social atmosphere.

Our meetings are every 2 weeks over the winter months, from beginning September to end of April, on Thursday evenings, from 7pm - 9.30pm.

Meetings consist of competitions and non-competitive events, such as talks, photography and computer lessons, outings, social events and anything else fun that we can think of. Ideas from members are always welcome. We visit other clubs and venues for talks and competitions.

Entry into photographic competitions is purely voluntary, although we will encourage you to have a go, as the feedback from an independent judge is a really good way to learn how to improve.

You have to be a paid up member to enter the photographic competitions.

Membership is for adults and youngsters aged 13 years and over, although to comply with national safe-guarding policies, we ask that all vulnerable people (children under the age of 18 and vulnerable adults) whether attending as a member or guest, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who must assume full responsibility for them for legal reasons.

The first meeting for all potential new members is free of charge, for you to experience one of our meetings. You will be very welcome, and there will be no pressure on you to join us. The choice is yours.

If you do decide you would like to join us, membership is £50, payable as one lump sum or £25 in Sept and £25 in January. (contact us for junior membership)
These membership subs are used to pay for hire of SFCC for our meetings, judges, speakers and club running costs.

So welcome to Fowey River Camera Club, where hopefully you will meet new friends, learn new skills and have fun.
